Fall Leadership Conference 2003
October 10-11, 2003
Unitarian Church of Norfolk, VA
Keynote Address: Toward a Deeper Patriotism
Keynote Speaker: Rev. Chris Buice, Minister, Tennessee Valley UU Church
Patriotism can be a fleeting, momentary enthusiasm or a sustained lifetime commitment. Our congregations are made up of individuals with many different kinds of commitments. Some are members of the military or veterans. Some are conscientious objectors and peace activists. Why in the world would we want to go to church together? Chris will give his answer to this question and explore how a deeper understanding of our Unitarian Universalist faith can help sustain a more profound patriotism that can serve us well in times of war and peace.
