Information on Ministers in Search
A few statistics about this year’s ministerial search:
--There are approximately 1,400 fellowshipped UU ministers
--125 ministers are currently "officially" in the search process
--80 churches are currently searching for a perfect match
--of the 125 ministers, 55-57% are male; 43-45% are female; 3-6 are people of color; 12-15 are bisexual/gay/lesbian/transgender; and 203 have a physical disability. Four ministers are in their 20's; 18 are in their 30's; 22 are in their 40's; 25 are in their 50's and 4 are in their 60's.

Congratulations to Rev. Steve Phinney, previously serving his internship at First Unitarian Church in Richmond, VA. He completed his seminary work and graduated with a Masters of Divinity on May 12 from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
June 21 wedding bells joyfully rang for Rev. Jennifer Innis, assistant minister at the Greenville, SC Fellowship and
Rev. Patrick Price, minister at the UU Fellowship of Columbia. Rev. Jake
Morrill, newly settled minister at Oak Ridge UU Church, and his wife Molly celebrated their first wedding anniversary on August 24th.
Ministerial Activities and Milestones
A glimpse at our some of TJD's ministerial activities and milestones: Rev. Ed Piper traveled to Scotland and Northern England for two weeks during his recent sabbatical.
Rev. Barry Whittemore attended the Mt. Airy, NC Fiddler's Convention during his June vacation. He was also re-elected to a second one-year term as VP of the Universalist Convocation. He will be on the Program Committee for next Spring's Convo to be held at the Mountain in Highlands, NC.
Rev. Meg Barnhouse graced the webpage of UUA recently. Viewers got a hint of her amazing writing talent. Rev. Tom Rhodes completed a 500 mile bike ride on the Blue Ridge parkway.
Rev. Dana Reynolds and his wife will have dual reasons to celebrate. Dana's ordination date, June 8, was also his and Wendy's first wedding anniversary.
Ministerial Formation
Ministerial Formation - Eric Kaminetzky, former Coordinator of Shared Ministry at Eno River UU Fellowship in Durham, NC, begins seminary at Meadville Lombard Theological School January 2004. This brings the number of seminarians in the District to 13.
