 Chalice Lighter Update

 APPLICATION FOR FUNDS:
Your Extension Committee's Chalice Lighter program is pleased to announce the approval of the Eno River UU Fellowship's Application for Chalice Lighter Funds
To support the newest criteria, Campus Ministry. Our first request since this criteria was established.

In early October a call letter was sent to all enrolled Chalice Lighters. We will continue to receive funds for this call. Keep your pledges coming .

As of November 2002 there were l936 registered Chalice Lighters out of a total T.J. membership of 9572. This represents 20% of the district's membership. The Board of Directors would like us to increase this number to 25% by June 2003.

PLEASE ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

  • Has your congregation held a Chalice Lighter Canvass Sunday this year?

  • Did your Chalice Lighter Coordinator, Denominational Affairs Chair or Minister received the January Canvass Packet?

  • Have you received your call letter for Eno River Campus Ministry and if so, have you sent back your pledged amount?

  • If you have forgotten what you have pledged, the amount is recorded on the call letter's address label.

If you have not received a call letter and remain a registered Chalice Lighter, please contact District Administrator, Shannon Cocheo at the district office.

Each of you is an integral part of the total program and we don't want to lose you. You are essential to the growth and health of the Thomas Jefferson District.

Keep the flame alive,

Marjorie Gelbin, Chair
Chalice Lighter Program

1st Annual North Carolina Choral Festival

On October 26, Ken Langer and the Music program at ERUUF hosted, what we all hope will be the FIRST ANNUAL, North Carolina Unitarian Universalist Choral Festival. Ten Congregations and Fellowships from around the state participated in an awe inspiring event. Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Piedmont, Winston-Salem, Coastal, Eno River, and Raleigh all participated as individual choirs. There were also representatives present from Hillsborough and Hendersonville. All 157 singers then combined into a mass choir to present three wonderful choral works, including a composition by Ken Langer. The day provided an incredible opportunity for UUs to reacquaint themselves with old friends, make new friends, enjoy wonderful fellowship and renew themselves spiritually through the magic of harmony. Ken Langer and his singers at ERUUF are to be commended for their vision, energy, and dedication for making this wonderful event a reality.
