| Welcome! The District's RE
Committee provides advocacy and support for religious educators and Lifespan
religious education throughout the District.
Committee participants bring a diverse background of
experience to the table. They identify resources, provide training and
networking to those who develop or manage religious education programs
at Unitarian Universalist congregations

TJD RE Committee
Kate Beasley
has a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Ed.
Prior to joining ERUUF as Director of Religious Education, she taught
public school — including a year and a half on an Indian
reservation, and a migrant farmworker summer school program; served for
twelve years as a non-profit consultant for the Idaho Commission on the
Arts and three years as Public Relations Director for the U of Idaho
Theatre Arts dept.
Kathleen Carpenter,
is the Director of Religious Education at the Unitarian Universalist
Church of Charlotte, a position she has held for fourteen years. She
received her Credentialed Religious Educator status in 2005 and serves
as a District RE Consultant and Renaissance Module facilitator.
Evelyn Carter, Committee Treasurer
is a Retired Director of Religious Education and member of the District
RE Consulting Team. She is currently active in the Unitarian
Universalist Congregation of the Swannanoa Valley and is a proud
grandmother.
Pam Lepley, Committee Chair
is serving her 6th year as the Director of Religious Education for the
Winston-Salem, NC congregation. She is a Consultant for RE Programs,
with a special interest in Adult RE Programming.
The Reverend Rosie Rimrodt
is the Minister of Lifespan Religious Education at Tennessee Valley
Unitarian Universalist in Knoxville, Tennessee. She served as MRE to
First Parish in Bedford, MA and as DRE for twenty years to The Peoples
Church in Cedar Rapids, IA. Rosie is a 2003 graduate of Meadville
Lombard Theological School.
Tandy Scheffler, Committee Secretary
is the Director of Religious Education at the Oak Ridge Unitarian
Universalist Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She is pursuing Religious
Education Credentialing, Masters Level. She taught in the public
schools for fourteen years prior to working as a religious educator.
Tandy is a District RE Consultant and Renaissance Module facilitator.
Kat Wilson
is the newest member of the committee. She is also the only
professional Youth Advisor on the committee. She currently serves the
Greenville (SC) UU Fellowship in that role.
